So awesome! Affirm stock has quadrupled this year
In 2022, the financial technology company Affirm is facing rising macroeconomic interest rates, recession concerns and weak consumer spending. By the end of 2022, Affirm's stock price had fallen by 90%, and its market value had been reduced by billions of dollars.
However, Affirm investors end 2023 with a very different mood.
As of Friday's close, Affirm's stock price has soared 408% in 2023; as the Federal Reserve sends a turn signal for interest rate cuts, and more and more retailers join Affirm's "buy now, pay later" (BNPL) model, people are worried about the company's doom. Worries about the situation have faded.
Affirm was founded in 2012 by PayPal co-founder Max Levchin, and its competitors include the likes of Klarna, Block's Afterpay and Zip.
Affirm debuts publicly on Nasdaq in January 2021
